Bunnies Nanny Agency is happy to help whether you require a Nanny, Au Pair, Maternity Nurse, Doula, Mothers Help or Housekeeper be it on a temporary or permanent basis.  The greatest care and attention will be given in assessing the suitablity of each candidate to each position.  Candidates will undergo a thorough interview by Partners Elaine or Rowena personally who will assess whether they are suitable for the position in question before arranging an interview with you.  Each candidate is required to have the following:-

• up to date CRB (Enhanced Disclosure).  If a candidate does not hold one of these or should this need renewing we can arrange this;
• up to date First Aid Certificate (again this can be arranged through Bunnies Nanny Agency);
• three written references.  Elaine and Rowena thoroughly check these and where possible personally ring each referee for verbal confirmation.  You will of course also be given up to date telephone numbers of referees.

Once you have selected a candidate we strongly advise you to draw up a formal Contract of Employment well in advance of the start of employment.  Bunnies Nanny Agency are happy to supply you with a specimen Contract which will just need adapting to your particular situation.

Please note we do urge you to start your search for a candidate at least eight weeks before you are seeking to employ them.

AU PAIRS

The term Au Pair means on par or an equal and so as to build up a good relationship  and have a happy Au Pair they should be treated like a member of your family.  Bunnies Nanny Agency have been supplying  Au Pairs to families in Brighton and the surrounding areas since 1994. Au Pairs generally come from within the EU (please ask us if you require further information). Au Pairs come to England to live in with a family in order to learn the language and culture and can be male or female.  Au Pairs are usually aged between 17 and 27 (this is the upper age limit) and are an excellent choice for those families with older children who are at school most of the day and who need some help with light housework.  Families with younger children also find them extremely helpful as an extra pair of hands at mealtimes and bedtimes! Their duties can include the school run, preparing the tea for the children, putting them to bed etc.  Please note your Au Pair is not a domestic servant and should only be asked to do light housework.

It must be noted that an Au Pair is not allowed to have sole charge of any child aged 2 or under.

Whether you require a long term Au Pair (one who wishes to stay between 6 to 12 months) or your requirement is for a short term Au Pair (these are usually foreign university students wishing to stay only 3 months or perhaps a little less) we are happy to help you  The maximum time your Au Pair can stay with you is 2 years so long as they comply with Home Office Rules.

Your Au Pair must be given her own room and be paid approx £60 per week and receive full board (this payment is called pocket money).  He/she is expected to work 25 hours a week (normally five hours a day) and have a full two full days off.  Your Au Pair is required to do up to two evenings of babysitting per week and must be allowed to attend English classes twice a week (he/she will pay their college fees).  We are happy to advise your Au Pair on suitable language schools and prices etc.

 
If you require an Au Pair it is essential you give Bunnies Nanny Agency as much notice as possible.  Please telephone either Elaine on 01273.505001 or Rowena on 01444 420045 so that we can book a suitable candidate for your job. Sometimes the Au Pair is already over here and just changing families in the UK. If this is the case, then Bunnies Nanny Agency will interview them personally.
